I found this Masakob Fall accidentally from the map. So i took the chance to visit it when we on the way to Mahua Fall. Before the journey, i had found that the Masakob Fall which is 62km away from Kota Kinabalu is destroyed by a hill slope slide and being covered up by tons of earth fallen down from the top of the hill. The entrance to the waterfall is locked and no one is allowed in.
After the Rafflesia Information Centre at Dongongon-Tambunan road, we came to this Masakob Fall welcome board.
The gate is supposed to be locked. But on the time when we reached, we saw a group of local just came out from the park. They told us the lock was spoilt and enter the park on your own risk, close the gate when we leave.
Enter the abandoned park, we found the collapsed slope and the debris fallen on to the resting place. According to an online report dated 19 july 2011, there is no action being taken to recover the park and debris were not removed since incident more then a year now.
Those facilities are survived from the landslide.
The scary land slide.
The pity Masakob Fall is located at the side of the landslide.
