We are total of 6 units 4wd departed from Segamat, used road no.12 and moved to Bandar Muadzam Shah direction. After Ulu Keratong, we turned into the right junction. Soon this power station is in our view on the left. We entered the oil palm plantation by using the trail.
This time, the waterfall we gonna visit is located in Lesong Forest Reserved in Pahang. Some area of Lesong Forest Reserve was included as part of Endau Rompin National Park when it was further expanded in 1972.
Here got some difficult for stock 4wd, car need to go down 2 short steep slopes! There's another entrance at the main gate, but you need to register & get the permission to enter the plantation.
This is nothing to those heavy modified 4wd.
A stretch of dirt road in oil palm plantation. The road system here is like spider web. You will get lost inside if you not familiar with the direction.
Edge of plantation and forest.
A 'what not to do' signboard. Logging is restricted inside this reserved forest but funny is logging activity is active inside.
Everybody praying for goodluck before entering into the jungle.
The ride on the logding trail is very bumpy, especially when the 4x4 drivers drove fast on the uneven surface. Kiddo told me sometime the speed can reach 100km/hr on the trail... OMG... haha! The trail can be very muddy and slippery especially after rain. Even our 4x4 also experienced 'drift' at some tricky surface. Kiddo called this is FUN!
The most tricky part is the hill slope section before the campsite. Drivers need guiding to avoid wheel stuck inside the deep holes.
The only building at campsite.
The campsite can accommodate about 20 person comfortably.
A small cascade and swimming pool are nearby to the campsite. Just nice for those lazy to walk faraway.
Trekking to the main Harimau Berjemur Fall at upper stream takes another 15 minutes. We crossed the river to go to the trail at the opposite river bank.
Followed the abandoned logging trail.
Take note a small junction on left. There's a 2-steps formed by rocks & enter the bushes. Noticed that markings are along the trail.
Soon, we reached the river bank again. The trail follows the river bank forcing us to carefully place our foot step on the slippery rock surface.
This is the main tier of Harimau Berjemur Fall. Harimau Berjemur means tiger basking in the sunshine. The water drop on a flat rock platform then drop to the stream below. Interestingly, the colour of the rock platform is like the stripes of tiger. Maybe the space under the platform is the place where tiger choosed to escape from the heat.
The trail lead to the 3rd tier of the Harimau Berjemur Fall may take some risk for those who try to scramble up, the trail is quite slippery and narrow as it laid on the left near to the waterfall.
Amazingly, it's a vertical type of waterfall, which is hardly seen at Peninsular Malaysia, but alot at Borneo Island.
Billion thanks to Kiddo & friends made this trip succesful!
